I have a 99 gmc jimmy 4x4 when i put it 4 low the light blinks but it doesnt engage the 4 high works fine any thoughts?

I have the same year Envoy, but I dont understand why it goes into 4 high and not 4 low? Could that be the transfer case going?

Not to be an ass, but are you putting it in neutral with the e-brake before you put it in 4L? If you are, then this may be a linkage problem as previously mentioned. Some people just forget the basics...

Like Geek860 said, it has to be in neutral to go into 4 low, and if the problem persist the 4X4 module ( wich is in the inside passenger kickpanel ) is probably at fault. They are bad for that.
