  • Sikhism eliminates the caste system because of the reason that "All are equal infront of the eyes of god; he is the only one above everything". Without the god aspect, I think it's a really valuable lesson for everyone that people should be treated aqually because iniatially we're all the same and 'rich/poor/occupations' have nothing to do with respecting each other equally. We're all human. You give the same respect as you would want returned to you. It's kindness.
  • Honor your father and your mother. Don't murder. Don't commit adultery. Don't steal. Don't lie. (from the 10 commandments) Take more concern with your own flaws than the flaws of others. (he who is without sin, cast the first stone. Judge not...etc.) Respect all people. (The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these." ) Be humble. ((Proverbs 17:7, Matthew 20:20-28).) Don't self-deceive and try to rationalize your deception. ((Galatians 6:7-8, James 1:26, 1 John 1:8). Holiness is in living by the commandments, not in achieving an end result (Matthew 4:8-10, 16:26). In Biblical teaching, the ends do not justify the means!

  • The golden rule: treat others how you'd like to be treated. It seems like common sense, but so many people DO NOT do this. They treat people like dogs and expect gold on a silver platter in return.
  • Nothing that would have just been figured out with common sense. We would have discovered the "Golden rule" without religion.
