  • I start with the grossest first.. the bathrooms. Then the rest of the house. But each room is started at the top and then working down. That way all the dust and debris gets mopped up or vacuumed up. A better system would be... hire someone to do it for you!! :-)
  • Room by room, from the bottom of the house upwards. In the rooms, cupboards and drawers first. Then desks. The floor (vacuuming, for example) is done systematically from left to right, across the carpet. Corners are done with an extendable nozzle. This is because most people are at the bottom of the house, and also dust from the top eventually falls down; so the majority of dirt and dust is at the bottom of the house and it's best to start with it because you have the energy. I also listen to my mp3 player while doing all this.
  • Yes i do, i actually like to start with the kitchen...something about cleaning the kitchen first and listening to music gets me in the mood to clean the whole house. after the kitchen i clean the bathroom, followed by the living room and then the worst, the bedroom. i really hate cleaning the bedroom, i hate folding clothes and putting them in hangers...i dont know, i really love it though when it's clean.
  • Oh yeah! First tie back hair, wear grunge clothes that I don't care about. Turn on MUSIC, fairly loud with a good strong MOVING BEAT to it! Fix large glass of Ice Water...preferably with a lid on the container. Gather cleaning supplies, put away things left laying about...don't just set them down in a NEW SPOT..put them AWAY! (grumble under breath about loved ones who do not put chit away!) Start with dusting, clean bird cages, vacuum last to get both floor dirt and anything that landed while dusting and possible spilled seeds, and feathers up.
  • I have a system. I put all cleaning supplies (windex, furniture polish, tilex, etc.) in a small plastic two compartment tote with a handle. I also put my paper towels in there along with a few rags. I carry the tote along with a broom and dustpan to each room. I just start at one corner and work my way around each room. Seems to go fairly quickly.
  • yes..I have an excellent system. I take a look around, decide what really needs doing, and then go shopping. ;-)
  • I start with whatever is crying for attention the most to give myself the option of doing something that is mentally more engaging. Doing a variety of tasks daily, makes everyday a balanced day.
  • Yes, I call the ” system” my girlfriend.
  • Yes, I start with the kitchen because a dirty kitchen is just gross and wrong... then I usually step by step clean the most visible places in the house. Living room, dining room, bathrooms, my bedroom, kids rooms, my office... I usually have laundry going the whole time, in fact, I usually have laundry going whether I'm cleaning or not. lol. About once a month, I make the teeners clean their rooms, which is really just a big waste of energy. My favorite system for cleaning though, is calling the service, which I do about 2 or 3 times a year.
  • Yeah, you can do it? Lol! I can now chill out!
  • Ya. I only clean the dirty parts.

  • I do have a system. I think it is much better than my husband's non-system. I'll start cleaning sufaces and putting stuff away. If something goes out of the room I am in, I set it aside, but I do NOT leave the room I am working in. (I am easily distractable) They when where ever the out-of-room pile gets a bit big I grab as much of it as I can And place in a 'step closer' to it's home. That may be putting on the stairs to go up with me next time or something similar. In the end I am very efficent with my system. :-)
  • I do if I'm doing a really nice cleaning job as opposed to a clean up quick, company's coming. I usually pick up everything loose, like books and papers, magazines, little things that are not in place. And then I start high and in one corner and go all around the room doing everything, cleaning dusting, vacuuming last. I also keep a basket for things that need to go out of the room so I'm not walking aaround the house.....getting distracted.
  • Call Merry Maids every other week. For $65 per hour it never takes more than 2 hours. Very, very worth it!
  • Yeah, advoidance at all costs.
  • Yes, I dial my housekeeper's number, write a check and leave it under the door. :-)
  • Yes..i start with the rooms that people will see first when they walk in my home. i don't leave the room until it is done. I do the same for the other rooms.
