  • Hell, I'm still waiting for someone to make the U.S. a one language country. Think of all the money that could be saved if the government didn't have to print things in multiple languages.
  • I think it would be boring if we only had one language.
  • I honestly prefer the multi-cultural languages we have now, national heritages are kept stronger as a language forms a very strong part of the different ethnic groups. Never the less when Esperanto was created it was a good idea and practice specially for the United Nations or International meetings like the World Economic Forum being actually held in Switzerland. Unfortunately it was not accepted by the very many countries.

  • I like the variety. So many things get lost in translation that to put aside an entire language would be a tragedy. Anyway, I don't even think it would be possible to have one language worldwide. Even if you could get everyone to speak it initially, it would end up branching off into a zillion regional dialects. It would be impossible to maintain the purity if it was used by so many people over such vast distances.
