  • The problem is the moisture. It can cause mold or dampness. But I agree it is a lot of wasted heat!
  • ya know, can't say that I have. living in Southern California we don't have a problem with TOO COLD.
  • Nope. My heater is MUCH more efficient than my dryer at heating the house.
  • The exhaust from a gas dryer smells bad and will probably kill you.
  • Kinda like the dust bowl is more like it! No, my home heater is much better at heating my home than my clothes dryer.
  • Two problems. 1) Tremendous amount of moisture is introduced. This may not be terrible if you allow it to circulate thru the house, because winter air is notoriously dry. You have to watch for condensation on cool surfaces(windows, doors, exterior walls, in the insulation itself.) 2) The lint can be problematic with furnaces/boilers and wih the coils of refrigeration equipment and possibly computers and other electronics. I have seen people use old panty-hose as a filter, but it wasn't 100% effective, and you MUST empty the panty-hose regularly to avoid fire hazards. All in al it is always discouraged by the 'experts'
