Living in the UK under Tony Blair the thought has crossed my mind

I would probably get locked up like Mandela.for dissent. I think if on the outside it would be easier these days to bring down a Dictator. The Eastern Bloc countries proved it could be done just with people joining together and standing up No guns no violence. Martin Luther King would have been proud of them

Think about it. How does a dictator have power? They have power because they control the money and people. The way to end their power is to convince people that they will no longer be controlled by paper and it is time to reject their self-appointed and repressive leaders. The most important people to convert to your ideological war would be people in the Army and security services. If the Army is not loyal to the dictator, the dictator is already overthrown. (That is why, incidentally, people who serve to protect the dictator in high-ranking positions often get great benefits so that they are not likely to join a revolution.) I would certainly try to make changes and appeal to peoples better nature.

Get the votes of the lower class, the people who are most disgruntled, the army is a key factor. Stash weapons, represent your claim in world politics so that the dictatorship can not harm you as much. Depends if you want to go violent or non-violent. Present a good dynamic speaker and win over people.
