Why are you failing to secure the country's borders against illegal aliens from other countries and the terrorists which cross our soft borders? Isn't protecting the country your first priority?

As a middle aged American that has spent time in the military and in the service of the government, I can appreciate the difficulties that you must face on a daily basis. However... (I believe that the opening paragraph should not begin with outright criticism. I have found that people are more apt to pay attention to what you have to say when they don't feel like they are being attacked from the onset. Placing someone in a defensive mode tends to lessen the chance of any type of constructive criticism being taken to heart.)
