Our nextdoor neighbors are 60 year old bullies. They asked to use our woods when we bought house 2 years ago. We explained it would be fenced for safety of our pets & they have been harassing us verbally, with guns, trash in yard, ever since. Help.

Sounds like there has already been too much lost to sit down and talk to them about how you want to be treated as neighbors. Is there a chance that you might try to do so? Otherwise the first thing that came to my mind is to get a much bigger dog, like a St. Bernard with an attitude!

Well before all the horrible stuff happened, you could have offered to let them put a gate into the fence (if they paid for it and promised to keep it closed) Now you cant do that cos you cant give into bullying. Have you filmed their behaviour and showed it to the police? I must admit id confront them with so much anger and aggression that they would think twice before they raised a gun to me again. Have you tried speaking rationally with them. I would advise doing the opposite of what they are trying to get you to do, be really nice an ask them how they are etc, ignore the rubbish and stuff, but always take the time to talk to them. It might make their shocking behaviour tail off. If not, you simply have to 'evidence' what they are doing and get the police involved. Threatening you with a gun should be enough to get them to turn up on a blue light which mite scare your nieghbours into behaving. Whayever you do you have to manage them towards where you need them to be. Good luck.

tell them to stop, if they dont or if you already have, then call the cops or file a report so you have some documentation in case things escalate. Start building a case now...

This is unacceptable from any neighbor. It is your land and you can do what you want with it. If you haven't already done so, file a police report. If you can get documentation of the fact that they throw trash in your yard, get it.

This may be a hopeless situation because you're dealing with idiots - idiots who will most likely make more idotic decisions that may harm you and yours. Moving away is probably the best thing to do, but please believe me when I say, they will probably be hoping that you never moved if their next victim turns out to be crazier sons of bitches than they are. I lived in an apartment next to a bunch of wanna-be thugs who were the reason me and my husband left. I found out by a neighbor who still lives there that the people who now live next to them are a Samoan family who apparently have bad tempers that have put the dumb fools in check.

Once they threaten you with guns, set up proof. Maybe have someone video camera or take pictures. That is a serious crime.

Surveillance video tape. And be sure to make copies to keep in a secure place.

sounds like the movie Deliverence. Tell them to back off or you will notify the authorities. You can also use one of those outdoor cameras that come on when there is movement and it will film them doing the dirty deeds.l
