  • I would personally recommend Fedora 10, a lot more user friendly, and easier to setup printers, network connections, and so on...
  • I would recommend Ubuntu
  • none i have got it and i hate it i recomend windows xp or mac os x lepord linux i rubbish you cannot use your webcam nor mic it need somthing called snack
  • I used to recommend Ubuntu but I have had issues with it lately and now I'm not so sure. I'm an experienced Linux user, and the way in which Ubuntu is set up removed or obscures some "advanced" functionality to which I'm accustomed. I haven't tried Fedora since Core 3 (about 2004 if I recall) but I had good experiences with it at the time and I hear good things about it. Mandriva is another one I hear good things about. For a new user, avoid Slackware, Gentoo, Arch, or (plain)Debian. They are great systems, but not terribly "friendly" to the newcomer. The most important thing to remember when coming to Linux is that it isn't like Windows or Mac in that things are done on a volunteer basis. Excellent and quick support is available, but no-one is being paid to fix your problems. Whining, insults, and demands will not get you anywhere on the forums or lists. If you show that you have half a brain and a willingness to listen and learn, people will bend over backwards to help you out. It's a community, not a commodity.
