  • Just normal high school things, no longer than 15 to 20 minutes. I never got on the debate team due to time constraints (my father getting ill and me taking care of most of the family affairs rendered any extra-curricular activities impossible) or it would have been longer. ~~edit in from comment thread: It was not that big of a deal because I had been preparing to be on the debate team. I took a public speaking class and we had, along with our assigned speeches, random speeches where the instructor would point to us, give us a topic, and we got up to the podium and gave a speech on the spot. . I learned one of my most important tips there: do not say "um," "like," or other filler words. He taught us to tap our finger on the side of the podium instead of using a filler word. It was better to have a pause than use one. . He also taught us to, while speaking, shift our gaze from audience member to audience member, making brief eye contact with each. That way you keep your audiences' attention. . We were taught various other things that escape my memory at this time. My public speaking teacher was first rate, though, and that class has helped me my entire life. . To this day I still do this.
  • Like 20 minutes. Just presentations at school and stuff. The biggest audience I had was at my companies Holiday Party when I was introducing the video that I made for them.
