you need to enable the external display. this can be as easy as using the function key with another key on the keyboard (it will look like a teeny monitor symbol printed on it) or you may have to go into the display preferences in order to change it (right click the desktop, click Personalize or options, depending on xp/vista, and look for the display link or tab.

u need to hook it all up and hold fn also called the function in and press f8 untill it shows up on the screen.if that dont work get an S video cord and an audio jack and an adapter for rca's. plug the audio jack in the headphon jack and put the adapter on and plug in the rca'sto the tv then plug the S video cable in from the com. to the tv and put the input on the right componet and then hold in the Fn button and press f8 hope that helps i do it myself

You're reading I have a Dell latitude D620 & a 2008 plasma TV. I bought a VGA to HDMI cord so i can watch movies from my laptop on my TV. It will not show up on the TV though. What am i doing wrong, or how do i make it work?
