  • Actually yes. Because I was unhappy at the moment I sort of equated that with being unhappy in general.
  • Do you mean I thought I was unhahppy, but then understood I was happy? Yes, but could be happier. We can always be happier or sadder. It is not like there is an off on switch. These are also a mind sets that can become self-perpetuating. You know how they say "attitide, attitude, attitude!" ? Well, there are all sorts of studies to suggest that if you are happy you have chemicals in your head that are released naturally(e.g. saritonin) that keep you there. Anti-depressants often work on this side of your head. It might be interesting to ask the question without the negatives... like "Have you ever thought you were happy and then stopped to think about it and realized you actually are?".

  • I knew what you meant and I have found it to be true at times ... or, i just realize that I can choose to be happy ... and do.
  • Yes I have so much to be happy about. I often will get down about being alone but I know this loneliness can end if I get out and meet people.

  • Yeah, I realized I actually have been depressed and I was trying to pretend I was fine the whole time.
