Has anyone on AB ever had a pet Hermit Crab? If so, how would you rate it as a pet experience, good or bad?

I have a number of hermit crabs in my 150 gallon reef tank...redlegged and bluelegged ones...but I would hardly call them pets...they don't even recognize me. They are good at keeping the tank clean however...but they are mostly nocturnal.

They are cute for about five minutes a day. Other than that they suck. You might as well have sea shells in a box, at least then you wouldn't have to worry if they aren't moving because they're not humid enough or too humid, or just asleep. Hamsters rule the hermit crab.
