  • You don't have to make one wait while the other eats: feed them in separate rooms. If you are worried about mess, put down a cheap placemat under each feeding area. I have to feed my cats specific diets -- they are all special needs -- and I have three feeding stations set up, because, for a cat, the other guy's food is *always* more interesting than the food under his/her nose. By now, when I appear with food dishes, each runs into his/her special room, and waits for the food at the placemat. While they are eating, I close the doors so no one can go and 'inspect' what someone else has. One tip -- if there is a water dish permanently at each place, pretty soon, you will have each cat completely trained to think of that area as his/her own. My cats even prefer the water from thier own areas!
  • I'd switch to a more natural food, like Wellness or Evo, that has no grains and very low carbs. Cats cannot digest grains or veggies easily and it cause them to have all sorts of troubles, especially as they get older, like diabetes. You can feed less of these more expensive foods and also save loads of money because you won't be taking them to the vet as often. We even had one older cat that is diabetic and wold throw up after every meal, stop completely with a change in food. Their coats are terrific and they don't shed hair all year like they were doing.
