  • Two rings, one with a stone.
  • 1) "In Western tradition, an engagement ring is a ring worn by a woman indicating her engagement to be married. In some countries, such as the United Kingdom, it is worn on the left-hand ring finger, while in other countries, such as Poland and Ukraine, it is customary for the ring to be worn on the right-hand. By modern convention in countries such as the United States, the ring is usually presented as a betrothal gift by a man to his prospective bride while or directly after she accepts his marriage proposal. It represents a formal agreement to future marriage." "In the United States and Canada today it is becoming more common, but still quite rare, that a woman will also buy an engagement or promise ring for her partner at the time of the engagement." "In some countries the tradition has been for the future groom to privately select and purchase a ring, to be presented to his desired bride when he proposes." "With more and more couples living together prior to marriage, however, it is becoming more common for a couple to select the engagement ring while purchasing a wedding band together. In countries where both partners wear engagement rings, the matching rings tend to be purchased together. In the United States the ring is to be worn on the left ring finger (4th finger) for both men and women." "Women can refuse offers of marriage by refusing to take the offered engagement ring." If you want to make your boyfriend a surprise by proposing, you should also be aware that maybe he will not consider it such a great idea. I would not buy a wedding ring before it is clear that both absolutely agree to marry and the date is already planed. The best could be to buy the wedding rings together, or at least ask him if he agrees with that kind of ring. As long as you both are sure that you want to be married, you should have made your mind on how you handle the issue of money in your couple.
  • Its not "unusual" and besides...love is love Go for it! and be happy...
  • Wow, every man's dream come true!
  • May I suggest a claddagh ring? A Claddagh worn on the left hand ring finger facing outward away from the body generally indicates that the wearer is engaged. When the ring is on the left hand ring finger and facing inward toward the body, it generally means that the person wearing the ring is married.
  • I thought men didn't wear engagement rings. The way I understood it is when they get engaged she gets an engagement ring and he wears nothing. Then when they are married they both wear their wedding ring. So my suggestion.... get an engagement ring and then have him put it on you??? Unless of course I'm wrong. Then I would just get him one and do it like a man would for you.
