If you want to make your boyfriend a surprise by proposing, you should also be aware that maybe he will not consider it such a great idea. I would not buy a wedding ring before it is clear that both absolutely agree to marry and the date is already planed. The best could be to buy the wedding rings together, or at least ask him if he agrees with that kind of ring. As long as you both are sure that you want to be married, you should have made your mind on how you handle the issue of money in your couple.

May I suggest a claddagh ring? A Claddagh worn on the left hand ring finger facing outward away from the body generally indicates that the wearer is engaged. When the ring is on the left hand ring finger and facing inward toward the body, it generally means that the person wearing the ring is married.

I thought men didn't wear engagement rings. The way I understood it is when they get engaged she gets an engagement ring and he wears nothing. Then when they are married they both wear their wedding ring. So my suggestion.... get an engagement ring and then have him put it on you??? Unless of course I'm wrong. Then I would just get him one and do it like a man would for you.
