  • I would say it would be fine upright because the danger here (unless its a screwtop) is the wine reacting with the cork if you are wanting to keep it a long time. If upright it makes no contact with the cork so would perhaps be better that way? If its upgright or on its side its no difference (apart from the cork) because its only touching the glass bottle.
  • Depends on the type of seal used on the bottle. If it's true cork, then bottles should be put on its side to keep the cork material from drying out. If it's plastic seals or screw-on tops, any storage position will do.

  • upright. its important to keep sparkling wine very cool as it is highly carbonated. even a can of pepsi stored will lose it carbonation. the cooler the better.
