I usually sit tight and take a breather, ordinarily finding work isn't a problem so I can budget my time.

Depends on how hard the stuff was that I just got through with. I usually ask for more - or go get it myself.

I appreciate it when my employees let me know they have time and would like more work to do. But what I appreciate even more is when someone comes to me with a solution. Just the other day, one of my employees came to me and told me she wanted more responsibility. She then suggested some areas that she could take over that would free up some of my time. We then implemented some of her suggestions. If you do need more work to do, don't ask over and over. That gets annoying and tells me that your position may not be needed. Instead use this as an opportunity to work with your manager to grow your position and get more responsibility.

When I had a job the company I worked at alsways had something to do.

However, now since being self employed I work harder for myself than anyone.

    I wish you the best
