get rid of the cat hehehe just kidding. I used to have that problem with my ex's cats. I would usually eat some benadryl or something... but my allergies weren't that bad, I would just get itchy.

Cats put me into the hospital. Cant just get rid of the cat because its thier dander and salava that causes allegic reactions. If your boyfriend really wants to be around your house, he can see his Dr and get some kind of antihistamine (never worked for me. Just made it worse) or get rid of the cat and have your home professionally cleaned with steam.

Who comes first, your cat or your boyfriend? At your house, your cat has left its mark, everywhere. if you two are going to stay together, you are going to have eliminate your house and the cat, from your social life. Meet somewhere else. if your relationship is serious or about to be serious, the cat is going to have to go. Like i said, who comes first, your cat or your boyfriend?

Check with your vet to see if they have a shampoo that helps keep the shedding down (I know they have it for dogs so I would assume the might have it for cats also). Confine it to just a couple rooms of the house-preferably rooms your boyfriend doesn't need to use. Have your home professionally cleaned every 6 months, especially the duct work, to rid it of all cat hair. Vaccuum and dust well every 3-4 days to pick up cat hair and keep allergies to a minimum. Other than that all I can say is Good Luck.

i understand that you may love your cat but please, put the asthmatic first. I have severe asthma and i slept at my friends house one night who has a cat and all the cat had to do was lay next to me for a while and an hour later i was in the ER hooked up to an albuterol machine. I know this isnt easy but its hard for us with asthma too. The cat could kill him, its really hard to put yourself first and tell someone that their animal is no good for them because from experience the sufferer will feel guilty, regardless. Who do you wanna spend the rest of your life with? I think this question is much deeper than asthma.
