Sounds about right. A little too simple.

User friendly was what I keep hearing... Personally, I found it annoying the way it kept tiling or hiding my windows. I'm much happier with my new Dell :)

Macs aren't so bad, but I get what you're saying. From what I can tell, they handle graphics much better. I myself own a PC, just because it seems like you have more options.

Yes, their supposed user friendliness relies on people doing things in a certain way and no other. In reality, they're far less user friendly than other products. Just look at the abortion that is the Ipod for example and how Apple has so many people convinced that they have to use Itunes, which is frankly awful. Not to mention the continuing myth that Apple computers are better at graphics or publishing when in fact they're not.

It would be good if there were some specific examples given. As someone who uses PC's all day at work, and yet has never bought anything except Apple computers for personal use, I don't find much that's different as far as capabilities of the OS. I just feel the Mac makes it easier and more seamless, although this comes with a learning curve if you're used to a PC. As an example, I have a friend who is a "PC person", and her depertment recently got a Mac to do some video work. She was tasked with taking screen shots of a QuickTime video for their website, and could not figure out how to do it on the Mac. She had worked on doing it various ways for several hours when she asked me to help, and she'd buy me lunch. Although I'd never taken screen shots from a Quicktime video before, the first tthing I tried worked. Just drag the image you see in Quicktime to the desktop and it makes a JPEG image file. The point being, maybe they can do more than you think, and you just aren't familiar with the way it's done on a Mac. -Scott

I've had pretty much that same experience.

I am a Mac user. scratch that, lover. so naturally, i'm bias. Personally, I think that the user interface and way that the Mac "thinks" is more logical. Like genevish said, you just drag something. Macs seem to be more aligned with using shortcuts.

personaly I don't like macs for just that reson it is hard to change your settings and stuff like you can do on windows.

That is my issue with computers in general. Even using a GUI is a bit of dumbing down, but companies are trying to sell computers to EVERYBODY, including those intellectually incapable of a simple RTFM. I hate to sound old, but back in my day the only people using computers were people who knew how to use them.

Don't like the limitations of the IPOD OS, install iPOD Linux and use your iPOD like a PDA, GameBoy, MP3 player, date manager, and so much more. Best of all it's free. Try it and if you don't like it, I understand that you can undo it by using the iPOD firmware update in iTUNES. http://www.ipodlinux.org/

I don't know if you have tried it yet, but windows 7 is a lean mean trimed up operating system. It's what vista should have been and almost what UNIX once was.

Hey, welcome to Apple, I repair computers, but I stay away from Apple, just can get around it, but what is worse they are looking repair technicians to work in apple computers. I am trying Ubuntu, free open software, just to get away from Microsoft, I join in your pain! 0 Gravity
