    its the same, German Shepherd Dog is also known as the Alsatian in Great Britain and parts of Europe.. ^_^ hope this helps... http://dogtime.com/german-shepherd-dog.html

    The alsation is considerably brighter. While the shepherd speaks only German...the alsation speaks French, Dutch and German...but only when he has to! :-)

    It's just two different names for the same dog, though some countries may have slightly different breed standards. An Alsation (Europe) is a German Shepherd (USA)
