People would be much more amazed by someone walking on water than by someone walking underwater

Try both..to observe the difference ....

To be honest, I would rather walk in water. Sure, walking on water would look cool, but it would just be like walking on land. Sounds kind of boring to me. Why just walk on another hard surface when you can wade into an ever flowing, ever moving, ever feeling body of substance that you can both feel and not grasp yet enjoy the sensations as it swirls around you in different temperatures and currents, pushing and pulling with the tides - eternally connected to the moon? I don't know, it might be because I'm a Wiccan, but that sounds much more enjoyable to me.

I'd rather walk in water. If I could walk on water I'd have a lot of explaining to do.

I would walk on water and tell everyone that I'm Jesus. Sure would get a lot of attention until people ask me to start performing miracles... :-)

That depends upon the temperature of the water. If it is cold, I'd rather walk on it. (And I do walk and skate on it when it is frozen...) All things being equal, I'd rather emerse myself in the water. I love to swim, but it also has to do with the dying/resurrecting theme (of which baptism borrows, but you can also find in secular literature like DH Lawrence...ex: The Horsedealers Daughter).
