Firefox: can someone help me with a firefox problem? The privacy tab (Tools/Options/Privacy) does not open - all the other tabs in the options tab do, but the privacy tab does not respond at all. What can I do?

Have you tried rebooting. Not just closing the browser, but a complete restart ??

Just a thought - if your Browser History, etc. has settings in Internet Explorer or your Security program (McCaffee, etc) and/or windows (esp if you are running Vista), then they might cancel out the privacy setting and, therefor, nullify the Privacy tab. Check it out. Sorry I can't give you a direct answer. If I find something, I'll let you know. I use Firefox all the time.
