  • Not if you have a good family and set of friends.
  • Not particularly. I think I actually enjoyed some of those years. The decisions I made when I was out on my own have been the most affecting and the hardest to overcome. I'd love to go back to that sense of hope and possibility I had as a child.
  • Try as much as you wish you couldn't live as long as the first twenties of your life! bless, prof.mes-solzhenitsyn08
  • For me it is, probably not for everybody. I do have good reason, so please don't give me pity.
  • The first decade of life is certainly filled with vital formative years. But I think your friend's quote is a VERY glass-half-empty way of looking at life. Confucius had a really $hitty first ten years. He was born butt ugly. They called him hillock because he had a misshapen head. His dad died when he was 3. The entire rest of the family turned against him and his mom, as she was the youngest of several wives and the others wanted all the old man's money. They drove her and her ugly todler out of town, leaving her in abject poverty. Confucius seemed to find a way to make the most of a very bad situation. A healthy dose of pessimism can be a useful shield in life. Expect the worst and anything a little better than the worst is a pleasant surprise. But be careful of adopting a philosophy that predicts failure. That can become a self fulfilling prophecy.
  • Some pass those years on by and others work on the years up until they get out of school.
  • Sounds like someone who had a rotten childhood. I didn't so I haven't wasted time in that endeavor. Interestingly, my son has had people in his life that also don't believe his childhood was problem-free..as if he is lying or trying to hide some huge hurt. I think the people with bad experiences don't believe anyone could have had a good experience so they paint everyone with the same broad brush that they experienced. No..I do not believe that is true for everyone! :)
  • NO. Because it it was, I would've slit my wrists years ago. You learn from the bad things that happen to you, BUT nobody should use it as an excuse like my crack addict step sister. She thinks the world owes her. BULLSHIT. A lot of people had it worse than us
