  • Why don't you take a different approach and be a LEADER and help them instead berating them?
  • You must be in IT....
  • You could put a power point presentation together on it, make it very detailed and very long and very boring. Write it at the level of a 5 year old. That is how they will know you are annoyed. There is a place for everybody. Perhaps the actual work they do is the type that very stupid people excel at, and it is just beyond them to be able to understand it innately. If it bothers you too much you should consider finding employment where smart people get jobs instead.
  • remmeber why you are there just dont mix them with your social life
  • If they're as stupid as you say...what would be the point of telling them.
  • Help them out. Show them that this is how you do it, and if they don't listen, and actually try, fire them,(or get the boss to fire them) and no third chances.
  • Don't let them drive you crazy Admiral! You can't tell them they're dumb and how would that help anyway. Can you talk to your boss and tell him/her that you're really frustrated. Good luck with it.
  • Maybe you can show them how to do these things. And if they continue to get it wrong, then document the procedure so that they can refer to that. I think that will work better than telling them that they are "so stupid it hurts". Just a thought.
  • get some examples of the one guy working so he can see that he needs him, then get some bad exanples of the stupid coworkers
  • Want me to tell them for you? What is their contact information?
  • my prefered method has always been condescending sarcasm. personally, i would keep that job as long as possible. i know they drive you crazy, but just think of the stories you can tell people about their incompetance!
  • If you've already had to explain those procedures many times, and there is no progress, then it's time you take this not to them, but to your superior and explain your case. Something could be implemented in the way of general information, perhaps. A better, non-condescending attitude towards them would help too.
  • Inability to print a PDF is not a reflection of somebody's intelligence, I've known highly intelligent people who couldn't even switch a computer on. The fear of breaking something prevented them from being curious and messing around with it. I only learned to use a computer because we bought an old PC which I couldn't have made much worse if I'd tried, so I spent hours pressing buttons and seeing what happened if I did X. I once spent HOURS retyping an essay for school because I had tried to insert a paragraph but every time I pressed a letter the one in front disappeared. I now know pressing ''insert'' would have fixed that and saved me a good 18 hours typing. Write detailed instructions complete with screen shots and print them off if you're interested in helping, if not just continue to put them down in a bid to prove your own superior intelligence.
  • You probably can't. What you can do is talk to your own superior and suggest company-wide training, day classes, etc. for software that you believe everyone should be familiar with. It will show initiative on your part, especially if you become involved in organizing or conducting this sort of training on your own. Other than that... sorry, it's just life. A good way to look at problems like this is by considering the fact that as long as you know how to do things that your co-workers do not, you will be a valuable asset to the company.
  • The IT person at my work puts together really simple step by step instructions (that ANYONE could follow)for frequently asked (and frequently rather stupid) questions. She hands them out at the monthly staff meetings. Chances are, they probably already feel stupid asking you such simple questions. You might also try sending out a memo that simply states how busy you are and if someone thinks that their question might be able to be answered by another co-worker, please ask around them first before running straight to you with such questions. It really shouldn't be part of an IT's job description to teach people how to print...that should be a required skill before anyone is hired.
  • You don't. I'm in the IT field myself, and if there's one thing that I've learned, it's that everyone thinks someone is stupid. You think your coworkers are stupid because they can't print a file. Your car's mechanic probably thinks you're stupid because you can't rotate your own tires or tune up your transmission. The person behind the counter at Walmart thinks that you're stupid because you still try to return that item, even without a receipt. The point is that the only one who's stupid here, are the people who can't understand the idea that other people don't care or haven't learned the same things that they have. Your frustration is based on the idea that everyone should be able to do such things, but the simple fact is that most people (even of generation Y) know almost nothing about the field of IT, that's why we're paid. Period. If they knew how to do such things in the first place, we'd either never get a job or would be very under-paid.
  • Well, you're not so great yourself, either, ...Mr. Perfect. There was once a time you didn't know how to print a PDF. Why don't you teach them instead of complaining? A lot of problems would be solved if people like you would stop griping and show people how to do something. If you're just going to gripe and gripe, you're going to continue to be unhappy and it's going to cause everyone else to be unhappy and everyone will end up being unhappy. Attitudes are contagious and if this is your attitude on a regular basis, yours isn't one worth catching. Maybe if you shut up and listen to what other people have to say for once instead of thinking you know how to do everything right, you might learn something. You complain about your co-workers, but you don't even sound like a great person yourself. Maybe the problem is in YOU, not them. If you can't take this answer, you shouldn't have complained about your co-workers.
  • maybe its time to look for another jor or type of work, maybe youll be better working on your own?
