yes. I'm not gonna lie to you. The other day in algebra 2 class a girl student had a Cosmo girl magazine. I browsed through it and found a page that had the 4 rules of dating for girls. One of them was to not send the first email, make the first call, or im or anything. This is rediculous. Guys need to know they are cared for by girls or interesting to girls just as girls are to guys. I strongly suggest you do not wait. You may lose something wonderful.

Could it be you imagine that he is distant or has he shown BIG sign's - You need to ask him point blank and in a gentle settle way, step back if his response is negitive - and hopefully he's just had a lot on his plate and doesn't want to put it off on you ! Being honest with how you feel is the only way,to find out the truth and you need the truth one way or the other -- Super Question and I hope I have helped you a little -- Pattijo

I would probably come right out and tell him, "Look, I can tell you need some space, and I'm going to back off, but any time you need me, I'm here." This will give him the space he needs AND let him know you care.

Hi! I do understand the question and the answers people give to you. I'm in the same situation. Sometimes my boyfriend treats me as a princess and everything is perfect. He calls me lots of times, he has ideas, we go here and there, other times is a breaking heart silence. He doesn't call me for three days for example!!! I really don't know what to tell you. By my experience, if I go and do my things and leave the cell at home, not answer some calls or emails, usually the day after he calls several times, goes to my office and asks "hey, i've been trying to call you... do you wanna have dinner?" So I don't know how to explain this, to me is a very incongruent way of being, the only way i can see it, is that it seems he likes to not be sure that I'm there for him all the time. The fear that I might not be there makes him go after. I don't know. It's complicated, because I get tired of this game and I just want a MAN to be with me and not have these cave states. Conclusion: Sorry I cannot help you and I do not understand MEN or at least this one. Meanwhile, if you feel like giving it a try, try to back off for a while or do something you haven't done yet, not answering emails for some days or cell and then ... what's the deal? you have been busy with yourself and your life lately right??? :( I don't know. I get confused. Maybe they do not even feel the way we do and for them they are just thinking about something else and do not understand they are being distant or absent. Love to you and good luck!

This is how I felt too. It is SO COMPLICATED no? Well, here is the thing. When guys get distant...there is a big problem. I am learning that men appear as they are. If he is distant you should take that as a big red flag. I hope I am wrong though.
-
It wouldn't make any difference whether he thought you were interested or not in him still! When the person is really keen, very little is going stop them! They're thinking about how *they* feel about *you* first and foremost! Not the other way round :)

I answered this earlier but you know what? You shouldn't have to play all these ridiculous games. Just talk to him and tell him how you feel. You don't need all that anxiety and anticipation.
-
Well I usually play it just for a while like for few days but If I don't really see any reaction to him then I'll just ignore him somehow.
-
That's exactly what it will make things seem, and you know what? That's the one thing that is going to pique his interest, if anything. It's crazy, I know, but that's how it is. From what you tell us, it seems that your boyfriend is losing interest in you, or has already lost interest to the level of thinking about breaking up - without a more accurate description it's hard to know. What I know, though, is that if the whole thing isn't lost already, staying a little distant is pretty much the only thing that will make it work; if it doesn't, I don't see a future for the two of you. Don't worry about it too much though. If the break-up happens, it's for a good reason, and you're better off like that. Just concentrate on getting over him and let time do its thing - you'll be enjoying life in no time.

Lifes to short to be playing games.Anxiety is very painful and so is expecting things to turn around when they don't. It will never ever be different.Trust me on this.Chasing after him bacause you love him and don't want to loose him is not a good idea.If he had any repsect or wanted to be with you he wouldn't ignore you. There are plenty of fish in the sea.Why waist years or anytime at all trying to change someone or waiting by the phone for them to call or txt. From a mans point of view. After he does it and you take him back He will continue with same behavior.Because your saying its okay to check-in and check-out when he wants. Don't waist years trying to fix it or change it.Please for your health and sanity move on.Not worth it.Been there.Done that.
-
Regardless of what reason he has for acting the way he does,it's a bad idea to chase anyone.

are you a voice control robot or something? don't do something because "People tell you to" there could be a lot of reasons for your boyfriend being distant. 1. he is feeling crowded 2. he is afraid of a perceived "over commitment" 3. he is loosing interest 4. he is afraid you are loosing interest in him 5. he is being pressured by his pears 6. he is distracted by something else entirely 7. he is questioning his sexuality 8. someone told him you were with someone else 9. he mistook your interaction with someone else as interest 10. he is having some other problem that he can't talk about now 11. his teacher is molesting him 12. he is molesting his teacher 13. his parents are separating/ getting divorced 14. he has received death threats from a former girlfriend many other possibilities. the key to a good relationship is non-confrontational communication. casually feel him out, find out whats going on in his life show him how you feel but don't smother him. and remember that in front of his guy friends he may feel the need to put on a macho front so as not to be ribbed as a whipped boyfriend.
