Dunno what you mean by that. Neither I nor none of the vets I know have any less regard for medals than before the Kerry capaign. We get our dander up when we see someone who gets one for crappy reasons. I knew of a solider who broke her ankle playing volleyball in Saudi Arabia during Gulf War I who was encouraged by her chain-of-command to accept a Purple Heart (injury in a combat zone) because it adds points to future promotion board packets. She declined but there are a lot of weasels out there wearing the PH for stuipd things, like dropping a toolbox on their foot and breaking their toe.

what value of medals? when your son/husband/father gets crippled or killed serving the governments political agenda, will a metal put food on the table? will it push you on the swings? will it hold you at night? will that metal replace the loved one who's live has been destroyed? look at the current "War" all the americans who have died, and for what? oil? Iraqi freedom?
