  • No, I feel that some people got the right guidance and were born into morally 'good' families and were supported, whilst others learn the wrong things through lack of guidance and support. But who is to say what is wrong and right anyway.
  • Naturally Humans(people) are just another animal!
  • everyone has self interests, we maximize rewards and minimize aversion. As rahebar mentioned we are animals. our behavior and how others see us as good or bad is due to genetics, development and environment. some people just cannot help being 'bad' sometimes good and bad is arbitrary and subjective, sometimes not. extreme example, bad person could be one who kills children, most people would have no problem classifying that person as bad.
  • Good and Bad are atrificial constructs used to promote society over the individual. The question should read are people naturally more or less self-motivated.
  • both...
  • I'll go with good generally, but back any animal into a corner and you don't know what they will do.
  • I think naturally more good! : O )
  • I think people are people and morals are not a universal constant. People are motivated by many things and their perceptions of good and bad are often shaped by their desire and the situations they are faced with....many times in life decisions are not black and white...even though morality seems to be painted that way. What is moral to one is not to another...what might be immoral to one might not be so immoral when faced with a decision where death or suffering to oneself or a loved one or even survival is involved...it's all subjective.
  • I am cynical and expect the worst. that way I don't get disappointed'
  • There are pockets of evil...groups of "bad" people..terrorists, for example, are bad. But definitely good wins out..there are many many more "good" people than bad. They are no match for the rotten evildoers..why? Because "good" people always play by the rules.."bad" people have no rules! :) Happy Sunday! :)
  • i dont like to classify people as good or bad. first of all, the definition of good and bad are in and of themselves subjective depending on someones views on morality and these issues are not always black & white ~ they are shades of gray. i like to view people by the intention of their actions ~ whether they are harmful or helpful, and not judge the person as a whole. i think there is good in everyone, as there is not so good. i see bad coming out in people as a result of suffering ~ with the exception of certain genocidal maniacs, i do not believe most humans are evil at their core. we are all children of "god" and we have a right to be here ~ we are serving our purpose. there is a spark of the divine in all of us. i believe those who commit harmful deeds are just misguided souls ~ they are suffering greatly and lost in the maya of the physical universe. they dont realize the karmic law and the interconnectedness of the universe ~ that any wrong committed unto others is also done unto yourself. and by that same token we are all responsible for our fellow man who turns to misdeeds ~ we have failed that person by turning a blind eye to their sufferings. kahlil gibrans crime & punishment chapter from the prophet beautifully describes karmic law in my opinion.
  • More good than bad. Unfortunately the bad ones are a big problem.
