  • this is a social training issue, you're learning and you'll master that. if someone likes you as a person she/he will not force you into anything, will respect you and your decisions and will care for your wellbeing. Boys at that age that are looking after you as a woman, well, they are not that difficult to spot, give time and they'll be in evidence. Time is the key factor, don't rush anything.
  • I'm 32, and still unable to tell the difference. I guess the best you can do is, if you like someone as more-than-a-friend, just tell him how you feel, but not forcing him/her to like you, just being honest. Whether he/she likes you back or not, they'll treasure your honesty. By telling them how you feel, the most probable answer will be how THEY feel. If they don't feel the way you do, then you can work at "being just friends", before you get so in love you can't get out.
