Of course it's silly - it's also very common.
-
I find it silly as well, as when you do this it becomes more of a personal issue than a debatable issue.
-
I think downrating is for completely vulgar questions or comments
-
I don't like to d/r, but sometimes it is necessary when an answer is so far left it stinks
-
I just got negated, see they attack for no reason sometimes!!
-
I got negated too, but not on this question... how sad- there are such mean people in the world. BTW, chiism, I gave you points to negate that jerk's negation lol. EDIT: There's some jerk who has been negating a lot of my stuff- stupid random downraters! EDIT 2: Just fixed a grammatical mistake.

I got DRd -7 points earlier for a question I asked that was "my opinion" and someone didn't like it and I have been getting DRd a lot over the last 2 weeks on NON CONTRAVERSIAL topics. It is silly. This site feels kind of like YA.. "agree with me or get DRD" These people are cowards and children. I ONLY DR very little (as you can tell my my % rate) and then it's because it's rude and offensive and just downright cruel.. I would NEVER just DR cause the opinion is wrong. We have one person here who says "I dR those who DR me.." but she doesn't know for sure who DR's her so..???? I don't do retaliation either. It's very silly and childish

Yes it is and I am guilty of it. In fact yesterday I DR someone because I didn't like their opinion and then I went back and gave the points back because I felt bad about it. I don't like when someone treats me like I am not entitled to have my own opinion so I shouldn't treat them like that either. Even though they are wrong and I am right. lol
