Don't know about the nnumber of colours, but to go with dark pink and white, how about a pale yellow or mint green? This may sound daft but have a look at things like wedding cards and photo albums that often have good colour schemes on them designed to look nice and not garish or overpowering.

I think that as long as your location and culture doesn't dictate what colors you need to have...(in china it's RED)...you can go with any colors that please you. I've seen some that were very formal black and white period. Others go a bit over board and end up looking (in my opinion) a bit trashy or as if the person had no concept of color clash at all. It all depends upon the mood and theme you want to create...from fairy like...to the 60's revisited...to a picnic in the park...seasonal colors...fall, spring, winter, summer... Bottom line...it's YOU AND YOUR NEW HUSBANDS SPECIAL DAY...do what feels right and happy for YOU! There is NO rule that says you need more than two colors. Now that I think of it...I saw one where it was all white...the brides maids and groom attendants wore a different SHADE of white, the Bride and Groom wore dazzling bright white.

You can use the dark pink and white; in places where you think the white may not show up so much, use a pattern of the darker pink ON the white, like rose petal shapes, or pinstripes, or??
