Alot of psychics, numerologists, and astrologists agree that something massive will happen then. Not all that say something will happen agree that it is the end of the world. As for me, I think it is just as likely to end then as any other day. You never know when some moron out there gets an itchy finger and presses a button sending us into nuclear annihilation.

They may be a big disaster, but I am not worried and loosing sleep over something thats based on a 500 year calender.

There's no reason I've seen to believe that date is the end of the world, but really it makes no difference at all. There would be nothing I could do to change that if it's set in stone (so to speak!) so I'll keep doing what I do already: live.

No, I have seen many dooms day predictions in my life time. I do not put any stock in what Bob (the guy living in his trailer in nowheresville anytown) has to say. That's how 99.99% of these rumors get started. Anyone with a degree making such a claim is a fool.

It's called the "Galactic Cycle" and NO the world wont end, it will still be here going around the sun just as it has for the last 5 billion years, whether humans and animals are a part of this planet at that time is another question and NO I am NOT a Psychic, card reader or any other class of hair brains ... the transitional phase of the cycle happens in and around the year 2012, it is when our solar system changes direction, Imagine a sinusoidal wave and at the apex is the directional change and depending on how fast of a change (Measured in years) and the amount of material floating around in the space that we will pass through will decide whether we species survives or not . you are already in that change and have been for several years now .. all mass extinctions have happened during these transitions it's been over 65 million years since the last extinction and we may not see another one for another 65 million BUT there is always the possibility during these times of local devaistations ... ~Nemo~

I've heard this before too. I also remember when people said that the world would end on 6/6/06 and the Y2K craze. In short, the world will probably end whenever it wants to...I doubt we would have the luxury of knowing precisely when that is.

Of course the world is going to end - a destroyed civilization doesn't have a calendar for the year after that. No one will be able to keep their appointments, people won't know what day of the week it is, and the rabbit will finally get hold of some Trix.
