Why do people feel "empty" inside?

When people feel empty inside it's because they feel incomplete they are missing something that they need to be happy.

Chemical imbalance in the brain. Conditioning by media- convinced they need more. Gloomy weather. Having too much fun then experiencing 'next day' let down. Need a meal.

Because some times you can't afford to feel any more because as "bad" as feeling empty is feeling something is worse. I believe that at some point the bad feelings just hurt so much and take so much energy that the mind and body decide enough is enough and person just stops feeling.... the other type of empty yo might be describing is that left when something or some one has been ripped from our lives and the empty spot they leave inside weather it is death, or the break of a long relationship, the loss does tend to leave hollow or empty feeling for some time its a void where that person used to be, thus an empty feeling inside.

Something's not right, or missing in their life. And they're not sure how to cope with things/make things better. I can relate. I'd also imagine, like me, they've lost the desire to love (although they still want it). Maybe they've been disappointed by someone. Maybe they don't know who they are.

They feel empty when they experience loss or disappointment.

If there is a need of their's that isn't being met. If they don't feel fulfilled with their family, marriage, other relationship, or job. If they suffered a loss of any kind. If they are depressed. Past abuse of any kind. There must be a ton more things than that. But it is near my bedtime so I am getting too tired for any more words.

Usually because they have bought into the lie that money and material possessions, or some other person, will somehow "fulfill" them. They are out of balance. People need to relearn how to be "high" on life, how to consider it a gift ... a journey that is to be enjoyed.

Because they're looking to be filled up from the outside when they have everything they need on the inside.
