You know how when you buy a pair of headphones or something like that and it's in that hard plastic that people hurt themselves trying to open?? Why doesn't anyone put that plastic around Fort Knox?? No one would ever get in!!

It is ridiculous how unmanageable it is to open....and if it doesn't work and you have to take it back......they give you a hard time for mutilating the package....

It is because of theives who are in our society who choose to steal rather than work so now in order to deter the little B@#$%$$$# we have to work to get items we paid for out of the packaging. Mr Bill

That's because if you take a pair of scissors to it, you can get through it. Besides, if they put that plastic around Fort Knox, how much of a pain would it be for the government get gold in or out?

- Yes but people cut themselves doing that a lot. When I asked this question I had been watching a report that stated 6000 people every Christmas go to the hospital cos they hurt themselves trying to open those.

......BRILLIANT !! You could seal the workers in with six years worth of food that would proabably only last for three years before its all gone. i think its brilliant !! We should do it.

Yes! and then they can seal the doors with that crap they wrap new CD's in! It takes 30 minutes to open a new CD! By that point, the music isn't even worth it anymore. lol

- I can tell you how to easily remove the outer plastic on the CD. Just find a corner of a counter and run the bottom edge of the case along it. Now, the sticker part on top is another matter all together. Of course, if you open a lot of CDs, that tactic of removing the outer plastic may not be the best method.

- I just open the jewel case and the sticker breaks. Then I just grab a broken piece of it and pull.

- Yeah that sticker is horrible. I buy more DVDs and its horrible on those too. But I have to slice it and they pull it off at the top. Forget trying to peel it off the plastic.

- On DVD's I slice the plastic sticker at the top where the line is that the cover connects, then peel the sticker out from the middle, it doensn't mess up the plastic covering and you won't be sitting there picking at it for hours

Oh I hate that stuff! I have cut myself on the sharp plastic edges a few times. Grrrr.

- It hurts and it's frustrating. Scissors don't cut the really heavy plastic very well, so one almost has to beat the package into submission :)

- I have a lot of things but don't mind duplicates. Last year my mom came by and she brought me a whole bunch of foreign coins and most were duplicates. They way I see it is I will never have the biggest collection in Montana if I don't have duplicates lying around.
  OMG!!!! The other day I was watching the news and this 80+ year old man in North Dakota apparently has one million pennies that he keeps in this huge barn. It's something he's done his whole life and his reason for it was cos he "wanted to see what one million pennies would look like in a huge pile". He's actually gone over a million and he's at like a million and a half now!! That's what I wanna be like at that age.
