  • Just what does it say its updating?
  • well it wants me to update a couple of things and so i do but after it was succesful the window pops up again eeryday wanting me to download the same security update.....
  • Try a hard REBOOT. Shut down the computer, wait a minute; unplug the computer -- wait 10 minutes. Then replug it in (hopefully into your surge protector power strip or battery back-up), then turn it on and see if that helps. It has for me -- kinda clears the decks and resets. ALSO-- check your 'udate' preferences in your control panel.
  • Click on the icon to open it, you should see a "custom", option. Select that, click the button at the bottom, a window should open listing the update with a check mark next to it. Deselect the box. click ok, this tells it not to install it.
  • If it tells you that it has successfully updated then it must be a bug either in the update or in your current service pack version. Go to your control panel and go to security, and disable this updating. If this problem continues to happen uninstall each update and erase it from the registry.
