If people want to pay less taxes, why do they keep voting for candidates who want more taxes?

Good question. I don't like paying taxes because I know that there are people who are taking advantage of my tax money who shouldn't be, but I know that taxes are necessary for things to be kept up to date, like new freeways and things like that.

Regardless, the idea of taxes is a Catch-22. If you raise them, you lose money, yet if you lower them, you spend more. It really doesn't matter.

They obviously aren't that passionate about their stance against taxes. Perhaps they wondered where their country would get it's money. I guess it could always be stolen from the U.A.E....

Not me, i retired early so my income would be real low so i wouldn't have to pay high taxes. I took advantage of the progressive tax system. Unfortunately my state is linear. Now my state tax is almost as much as my Federal tax.
