Why is it important to listen to children and respond to them in a way that shows you have valued what they have to say?

Respect and trust is earned, not automaticly given. By taking the time to show the children you care and have the time for them, will earn thier respect and trust.

So they know you care basically. Children are smarter than people think. They can sense negative tones, looks, and body language just like an adult. A widely used tactic is kneeling down to talk to children so you are at the same level as them. It's less intimidating and shows more care.

They will be adults one day and need to be able to recognize analyze and deal with what goes on around them. Nothing is worse than a 18 year old with no sense of the world and attitude. A set up for failure.

to set a good example and provide them with the answer they need to go down the right path in life. To grow up to be responsible and showing them that you care and you are taking their questions seriously means that they will trust you and open up to you about anything that is bothering them. basically to summarise it's all about trust respect and setting a good example its important that you always listen to them no matter what.
