  • Genital warts are treated using various methods. It is most advisable to see your doctor to discuss which treatment option is right for you. First option that most will prescribe to you is a home prescription medication such as Aldara or Condylox. These creams are applied directly to the source and usually take 1-3 weeks to work. If at home treatments do not work, your doctor might suggest getting it frozen off in their office using cyrotherapy. • I had genital flat warts for years, I live in Central America now and there are no treatment centers anywhere near to where I live. I tried some wart cream from my urologist, but that just spread them out farther and made things worse. This may sound painful, but I used nail clippers to cut them out one by one. In all I have removed over 100 warts and they never grow back in the same place. After you cut them out (be careful not to go too deep, as it can be very painful and bleed badly) clean the area with alcohol so they do not continue to spread or get infected. After around 6 months of doing this once a month (its easier being drunk while extracting) I no longer have any signs of flat warts and have been clean there for a year. It might not be the best solution, but if there are no treatment centers nearby or if your too embarrassed to seek help it may work for you too.
