Why do people hate ironing clothes so much? What makes you not want to do it?

It's tedious and pointless, when one has mostly perma-press garments. Since ironing is such time-wasted drudgery, I rarely buy any clothes that require it.

I have to concur with Wide Awake Phoenix. It IS tedious and pointless...and it's really boring! I have a lot of clothes that don't require clothing...on purpose...because I detest ironing so much!

I don't know, but I love ironing clothes. I find it soothing.

Because it takes time I could be using on more interesting things to stand at a board and try to get out wrinkles and make them look perfect..even though half the time they look worse then they did before I ironed them.

Its because irons need watching all the time and u need to put water inside them - its fiddley. Then you have to fiddle on and do it exactly right or you get more creases and the ironing board is allways too small and you need to keep moving your clothes and you keep missing bits, and if you very unlucky the ironing board collapses half way though.

i don't like ironing at all... try to get the shirt or trousers done right and they still end up with wringles or creases where i don't want them

I don't mind ironing unless it's really hot and humid in the summertime. I love the crisp neat way clothes look when they are perfectly ironed. I love the creases or pleats and the no wrinkled all over look as well. It's really easy to do when you have a good steam iron and freshly washed clothes. Things just look so nice when they are ironed.

I dont buy anything that needs ironing or dry cleaning. Washer, dryer, period.

It's so difficult to do it without pressing in a wrinkle.

It's a job & you don't even get paid for it. However, if you put a good movie in while ironing it's not quite so bad.

I don't mind it at all. Although I do mind burning myself with one. It happens way too often... I'm not the most coordinated person.

Most people I know are too lazy to iron their clothes and usually just throw their shirt and what not in the dryer lol. I always iron my clothes every day though, I can't stand wrinkled clothes. I don't want to do it and I don't like to do it, but I have to because I don't have enough time to throw my clothes in the dryer and wait for it to be wrinkle free.
