No. We have local coffee shops and Starbucks. The local shops offer a different atmosphere and usually have live music at night. They draw a different crowd than Starbucks.

Starbucks have barely made a dent in Connecticut. We have Dunkin Donuts sprouting everywhere, including gas stations.

No. I'm having a lot of Starbucks shutting down in my area because they built too many.

No, there are more than ever now, all kinds, Tim Hortons, Second Cup, Bridgehead, Cafe Express, Timothy's, etc.

Yes absolutely. We had a starbucks go up in a local mall directly across the hall from the only local coffee shop we had that was worth anything "Gloria Jeans", and within a few months Gloria closed and then 2 other Starbucks opened locally out side the mall. Conveniently now, the mall location of Starbucks is closing and Gloria Jeans won't be reopening there...which is sad because Gloria Jeans is about a million times better at half the price.

I just read that their profits for this this quarter are down 97% because of poor store-closing choices and equipment upgrades(single-cup machines), so you may start to see the reverse trend happening soon:)
