They will only take your guns if you let them. Mine, they will pry from my cold dead hand and that will happen when i'm out of ammo.
-
I'm not sure of specifics, and obviously it depends, but if Obama were to change gun control laws, it seems that you just wouldn't be able to renew your permits, and would have to hand them over either when renewal came due, or the first time a cop happened to see them. Out of curiosity, what in the hell do you even *Use* all those semi automatics and assault rifles for? And to answer your last question. Yes, yes he can.

Anything Obama, Reid, and Pelosi can agree on and decide they want will likely become law. Considering their history and ideology I'd say your rights are likely to be infringed upon.
-
No, Obama can not take away those rights. He can however ban them from future sale which is why you see a huge rise in gun sales right now. He can and will also tax the hell out of everything he can, guns and ammo will take a huge hit. Stock up now!! As for the ones you already own, they're yours and no-one can take them from you, just make sure you have all the proper paperwork in order.

The right to bear arms is in the Constitution. In order for a constitutional amendment to be revoked, I believe it has to be ratified by a certain majority of the states and their congresses (my history teachers would shoot me for not remembering the exact fraction). The president does not have enough power to revoke this right on his own. Even if he has a particular belief, that doesn't mean that it will become part of our laws. The executive branch's power is theoretically balanced out by the legislative branch, although Bush allocated more power to himself.

Oh, right! Obama has 2 quagmire wars, a broken economy, a near-trillion dollar budget deficit, and 8 years of war crimes and subversion of the Constitution to undo...and he's going to worry about citizens who legally own guns? GET A F****G GRIP, PEOPLE!
-
I love this question !he is anti-gun but i saw him on the news ,his secret service staff automatic weapons in hand! whats up with that?
-
to protect your gun rights i would urge all gun owners to join the NRA, they fight legally to protect our right to own and enjoy our guns and gun sports. here's a picture of my .32 cobra semi-auto, in majestic pink with white grips. no worries about the men in my house borrowing this pretty baby! the cop who registered it for me, opened the case and said, stunned, "it's pink" lol

Since the ballot box has failed us, there is left only the cartridge box. For that reason Obama will go after guns, probably by executive order.
-
No as long as you are white and legal they will not take away your guns, they only take away black professional athletes guns

In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, New Orleans Chief of Police Eddie Compass ordered police and National Guard units to confiscate firearms from citizens who remained in the area. The National Rifle Association and Second Amendment Foundation filed a lawsuit against the city of New Orleans to place an emergency injunction forbidding such seizures from continuing. A temporary restraining order was granted September 23, 2005.[1] The Disaster Recovery Personal Protection Act of 2006 (H.R.5013, S.2599) was a bill introduced March 28, 2006 by Republican Congressman Bobby Jindal in the House and on April 7, 2006 by Republican Senator David Vitter in the Senate.[2] On August 4, 2006, it was referred to committee. On July 12, 2006 Senator Vitter proposed Senate Amendment 4615 (the Vitter Amendment) to Department Of Homeland Security Appropriations Act, 2007 (H.R. 5441), to prohibit the confiscation of a firearm during an emergency or major disaster if the possession of such firearm is not prohibited under Federal or State law.[3] The proposed amendment was subsequently modified to contain the provisions of the Disaster Recovery Personal Protection Act of 2006. However, the temporary surrender of a firearm could be required "as a condition for entry into any mode of transportation used for rescue or evacuation". OBAMA VOTED YES ON THIS, AS DID ALL REPUBLICAN SENATORS.

Look at the Constitution. Although the SC has recently overturned 200 years of precedent to some degree by discounting it somewhat, that nasty phrase "a well-regulated militia..." basically means the unfettered right to keep and bear arms is essentially fiction and always has been.
-
The Constitution allows people to bear arms. Obama may require a Federal Gun Stamp for each weapon. that would be his only recourse.
-
No. Those powers belong to Congress, so far as they are allowed under the Constitution, or to the states. The President does not have any power over gun ownership. States make their own rules, and Congress can pass national laws, but the President has no relevant powers.
-
He, alone? No. He could lead such an effort, however, and do so successfully, if he had the backing of the majority in congress and a sympathetic U.S. Supreme. Such have been instrumental in slowly and systematically bastardizing the protections of the Second Amendment for years, now. +5

The president can't do shit. He's also admitted to being against gay marriage, but doesn't think his opinion should be imposed upon other people. Weird concept, I know. In the end, the issue of guns will come down to a majority vote. And yes, guns and permits can be taken away. When gun laws toughened up here in Australia, people either gave their guns up, paid fines or went to jail for a while. And in all practicality, you don't need a semi automatic weapon or an assault rifle. That right is left over from a time of war. It's over.

Your right to own guns is protected by the Constitution. These cannot be LEGALLY taken away, but gun-banners work constantly to chip away at this right as much as they can. If you don't already belong to the National Rifle Association, I suggest you join. The only way this Constitutional right is certain to continue is if those of us who believe in it band together and fight for it. http://www.nra.org/
