  • LOL Mostly argue to argue. I used to belong to a debating Society at college and cannot get out of the habit
  • Only to defend my views which are constantly under attack.
  • Usually I argue mostly for argument's sake. A friend will say something, something completely irrelevant like what time a TV show aired, and I will argue with them over what time it was on - never aggressively, but just until they give up and let me win. I guess I get satisfaction from 'beating' the other person, being 'better' than them. I notice my dad doing this and it really bothers me, so I'm trying to stop arguing just for argument's sake (it's one of my New Year's resolutions).
  • Mostly to reach a conclusion, but I have argued for every one of the reasons you listed before in one circumstance or another.
  • Lol, it depends what I'm arguing about or who I'm arguing with. If it's my little sister, I argue with her to beat her down and make her shut up. If it's my older sister, I argue to get my point across, all the time (her ears are blocked..).
  • my dad always said i should be a lawyer because i argue so much. he always told me that if you believe in something dont give in just because someone dissagrees with you.so i will argue my point till im blue in the face,i havnt talked to my brother in 3 years because of my own convictions.
  • i always have an ideas which are fix and i cant uruge with people about it.. but in some situation i like to urgue with the people to reach no solution..
  • I only argue if I'm one hundred percent sure I'm right, so there's no chance of there being a mutual conclusion. I like to argue until the other person gives in, or until we agree to disagree.
  • I argue for all different reasons, i will argue with my bank manager about charges and i will do this very tactically, i will argue with my hubby sometimes because i have a different point of view to him and sometimes just because I'm stressed..(bless him) so i think we all argue for differently with different people i know i do....
  • ... NO ... I only argue when the other person insists that they are right and I am wrong, when I know for an absolute fact that it is they who are wrong and I am right ... but I will only try to present the facts ... if the other person ignores the truth and maintains their error, insisting they are still right, then I just let them continue after repeating this quote from Buddha ... "No one person can ever change the truth, but the truth, once learned, can and will change the person."
