When I was a child in the 1950s. It was the only way I ever saw a doctor at that time. You can get one now but only when it is medically necessary.

I remember when the doctor used to make house calls with his little black bag in tow full of mysterious things like a stethoscope, sphygmomanometer and bottles of colorful pills. He actually dispensed medicine so you didn't even have to go to the pharmacy! It was $10 if he came to the house, but if you went to his office, it only cost $5. Oh, the good old days (50's).
