Well, it's been several hours without an answer so I'll shamelessly throw an answer out there. I live in the US and I see no reason to believe it's the best country out there. We have only two assets, albeit weak ones in the practical sense: we have probably the most powerful military, and we have bright shining moments in our history such as the founding of the country and the victory in WWII. Note that the latter merely looks at the past and yearns, rather than looks toward the future to continue the legacy; it's the little guy triumphing over the big guy, something that has been ignored for the past decade. We're not the best at anything else except killing other people and reflecting on the nice parts of our past. What is the greatest country? Hell, I don't know. I would think it would be the one that seeks to help the most people as possible as much as possible. A country that has low rates of crime, infant mortality, and suicide; perhaps a high rate of literacy, employment, and wealth. Whatever country fits the bill, it certainly isn't the US. Let's get it together people. Do something, anything.

Nope, but I don't think any country fits that definition. Even if one did, you'd need to have visited every country in the world at least once to be able to make that judgement, and to the best of my knowledge only one person has ever done that.
