As Henri Cherier did in his auto biographical story Papillon - He was sent to solitary confinement and he used to walk within the cell and he was passionate about taking his revenge on the person who brought him to that fate. I think good health and a passion to survive (for a good/bad cause) may help one to remain sane. Well thats what i read... no personal experience :).

Nothing - The sun is warm, the grass is green.
-
Read if I could - if books weren't an option then I would make up stories in my head, which is how I keep myself occupied most of the time anyway.
-
Sleep as much as you can, eat as much as they give you and workout, sit ups, pushups, aerobic exercises, thats about it. Oh yeah, scream and curse the guards everytime they check to see whether your dead.
-
I would read, and if allowed, listen to music, strum the guitar or sleep. And yes, exercise. However, if one could earn privileges, like a prison employment (dishwasher, cafeteria staff, etc) then that would be okay. Over all, just behave and then there's a chance you won't have to do your whole sentence.
-
I would probably Sing and write music.
-
Imagine all my friends and relatives around me. Talk to them and answer back as if they were there.
-
What makes you think I was sane to start with?
-
Meditate, retreat into my own mind. With a good ability to visualise, you can go anyway you want in your mind.
-
I'd try to learn something. A language maybe or get a credential in something....something to keep my brain occupied. Maybe that's why so many folks write books or become lawyers while in prison.
-
Probably do what the others do become a Ordained Minister Become a Lawyer Have My Health Taken Care of and Just relax a bit.
-
Two things Ive always wanted to go to prison just to do: 1. Find Islam 2. Run my cup across the bars nonstop
-
Read, pray, exercise, practice martial arts, sing, draw, write, crochet (I'd say cross-stitch, but that requires a blunt needle, and would probably be against the rules,) learn languages, study upper level math books (notably combinatorics)...
-
Read, I love to read.
-
I wouldn't.
-
I think I would be like Paris Hilton and read the Bible more and catch up on some personal correspondence by letter writing.
-
Sleep, exersize, pray and read/write letters. Stare at pics of loved ones and daydream about the day I get out. Thats what I did anyway
-
I would pray and try to be model inmate. A mentor to new prisoners and try to get an education or a college degree in prison.
-
First i would pray to God To help me and give me strength to live every day in Prison until I get out. second I would take college courses and get a college degree and be a model inmate and always listen to the guards and be on good behavior and excercise and read books.
-
I would be in my own little world, aint nothing wrong with having imaginary friends... right..
-
I would pray to God To help me keep my sanity until I got out. Read, excercise and take college courses if it was offered and study
-
