Question

Help answer this question below.

I have a 1988 Nissan Maxima. When the outside temperature drops below 45 degrees the transmission won't shift to the final gear until the engine is hot. Sometimes it won't shift until I have travelled 8-10 miles. Any ideas? The Dealer is no help.

Automatic or manual, if manual, does it grind or act like it is in neutral?

    I'm assuming you've got a manual transmission

if so, it sounds like a bad clutch master cylinder or slave cylinder. If you replace one, replace both.

If it's an automatic transmission, then you may need a new one.
