The check engine light in my 2002 toyota corolla has been on for a while. i've done all the routine maintenance work but has not turned off. toyota wants to charge alot to check it since it has over 130,000 miles. any suggestions on what it could be?

Advance Auto Parts (formally known as Discount Auto Parts) will do a diagnostic test for free. They will hook up their OBDII scanner to your car and then go back into the store and print out the trouble code(s) for you. Autozone may do the same but I am not sure. Good luck -
