Macaulay Culkin. I remembered all the news and tabloids that his family caused with his angry and controlling father and his parent's divorce - all the family allegations that were aired on tv/newspapers. Plus, his parents were illegally using his money for their own purposes.

I think that might be Jackie Coogan (1914-1984). His plight was directly responsible for the enactment of the California Child Actor's Bill, also known as the Coogan Bill. He made millions over his career as a child actor, only to find, when he came of age, that his mother and stepfather had spent it all.
