  • I think it is smart, because honestly the chances of a case re surfacing after 7 years and nothing is unlikely...plus it you were to save every case file then you would have tons of warehouses filled with these things
  • Not if the case in question hasn't passed the statute of limitations! Do they really do that?!?
  • If the case has been closed and no appeals have been filed. They would have most everything on record probably in a computer someplace anyway.
  • I think they should be put on microfiche or tapes, in case they ever need to re-open the case. Many people have later been proven to have been innocent. Without those records and evidence, that would have been impossible.
  • It's good..I mean if there is no hope left in the case, Then why keep the papers around just to take up extra space....

  • well they realy dont shed it havnt u heard of people who got cought 20 yrs after they did something if they shred it how would tehy still catch that person whatever u do will always be ina computer and if a cop wanted to they can get it out the unsolved things dont get shred they basicly just go to the next file
  • So many new cases come in...they'd have to.
