Light colored eyes "leak" more light around the pupil than dark colored eyes. I think one could correlate this with people having lightly colored irises as well. Often, people who are "albino" are so photosentivive that they must wear special filtering contact lenses. The iris has a great deal of potential properties such as multiple color layers and various mosaic-like patterns determined by their genetics. This is why the classical explanation of eye color never works when using Punnet Squares to explan eye color.

Just a thought, but with something like eyes being more 'sensitive' does not necessarily go hand in hand with 'weaker'. I would think that the more sensitive the eyes the better they would function.

I too have light colored eyes that are sensitive to light but, I also have 20/20 vision. However, I do see better at dusk or on cloudy days and have less sensitivity. Not sure if that helps? Also, I used to get migraines about 2-3 times per week but, now take medication. I wonder if they are related?
