  • It's a matter of opinion. I don't think it is interesting to DO but I DO think it is interesting.
  • It can be, it all depends on what you find interesting. I find some maths interesting, but most of the time I just want to bang my head against the table because it gets tedious and repetitive, and I find it pretty easy
  • its not very interesting, but it is very easy! :-)
  • Math in and of itself is tedious and boring. Applying it can be interesting though.
  • That's an odd question. That's like saying "is television interesting?" or "is reading a book fun?" How about "is pie tasty?" Some people can find no greater amusement than calculating logarithms to 20 decimal places. Others will say pure math is pointless and that it must be applied to things. They're the sort who like to count their money. Others still may find grueling physical activities interesting and that is all, and don't want to consider any math that may be used to describe any aspect of what they do, which is ok. I can respect the first and the third type. Not the second. Or people who insist that math is 'easy'. People who say math is easy are people who know very, very little math. I can say this though - like anything, if you have a problem that IS easy, or one that is too much for you to handle, and you can make no headway on it - THEN it sure isn't interesting. Otherwise, it probably is. Unless it isn't.
  • Yes, when you are able to solve it.
  • I believe that math is part of our lives and is interesting to do but if you want to do that by professional you have to try very hard to understand math. Some kind of math are very easy but others are not.
  • Yes I think so. I enjoy maths and often find it beautiful. Which many people would see as odd but I don't see it as any more odd than seeing beauty in poetry.
  • I really don't think so, but I know others have a passion for it.
  • hell yeah.
  • i have failed Maths but i would still like to master it.
  • yup its really interesting...... it can twists your mind and if you found the answer, it can make you feel happy
  • Every now and again you find something in maths that's interesting but fleeting, like how integrating the circumference of a circle you get its area. 4 times the area gives you the surface area of a sphere. Integrating the surface area of a sphere gives you the volume. There are other areas in maths that have less numerical calculations that are VERY interesting, like Automata and Languages. This is the mathematical description of a language. The MOST interesting part of maths is not the mathematics itself but its philosophical implications. Look at the number i (or j for you electricians). i = sqrt(-1). This number CANNOT exist: Positive * positive = positive Negative * negative = positive Therefore no number multiplied by itself can give you a negative number. Hence the square root of a negative number is impossible to construct. At first this seems rather trivial; what can an impossible number do for us? Well, practically any calculations in electricity require this number. So the nature of an actual thing in this universe, electrons, is governed by a number that cannot exist!
  • yes ,of course
  • Sometimes..But there are times that I hate math..^_^
  • Funnily enough, I hated maths at high school... For reasons I won't go into here, I find myself studying calculus 10 years down the track and when I find myself understanding each concept, my interest in the subject gets more and more - I think that its all about perspective, motivation and having an open mind! It also helps that you're doing something because YOU want to as opposed to being made to do something like you are in high school!
